The BrowZine-Primo integration is now available and the feedback has been excellent:
“BrowZine is a mission critical tool that our Colorado School of Mines students and researchers use to stay current on scholarly journal content. Most importantly, BrowZine puts formerly disembodied articles back into their journal- and issue-based context, thereby encouraging the spontaneous discovery of other articles and journals of interest. Our faculty and students love BrowZine because it is so easy to use and so useful.
We had been doing basic linking from Primo’s general electronic services to BrowZine, but we know many users simply don’t see those links because they are hidden down in the full record. So recently when Third Iron announced their APIs, we jumped at the chance. I am happy to report it has been it fantastically easy for a non-coder like me to integrate BrowZine ‘s impressive journal engagement capabilities directly into Primo. The links to BrowZine are clean and obvious. In fact, it’s hard to miss them.
The integration is simple and fast to set up. Just a couple of steps that are super-well documented and Voila! BrowZine is organically a part of Primo. The integration provides an elegant joining of these two platforms. It is a win-win scenario: our patrons benefit through the expanded visibility of BrowZine and our staff benefit because Primo is now better and more useful than ever. Even the Systems Librarian looks like a hero!”
Thank you, Third Iron and BrowZine.
